5 Steps to Becoming a Morning Person

5 Steps to Becoming a Morning Person

Hey there sleeping beauty!

Are you tired of sleeping in and always hitting the snooze button, only to drag yourself out of bed feeling groggy and grumpy? Don't worry, I've got your back!

I'm gonna share with you my top secrets that truly transformed me and turned me into an early riser. These tips will have you excited to go to sleep at night and even more excited for the morning. Having you wake up with a smile and in a good mood.

Here is a quick summary:

1. Sleep Rituals

2. Evening Journaling/Visualisation

3. Block Blue Light

4. Morning Rewards

5. Embrace Natural Light

Set a consistent bedtime and stick to it religiously. Establishing a calming pre-sleep ritual, signals to your body that it's time to relax and wind down.

Whether it's sipping on a cup of herbal tea (my favourites are peppermint, camomile and nettle), doing a gentle yoga flow, or listening to calming music.

Another thing I like to add is a cream or a balm with essential oils. A specific smell of lavender already signals my body that it’s time to sleep. (My favourite - SPA CEYLON SLEEP Body Milk)

Before going to bed, spend 5 minutes writing down or visualising how you want your morning to go. Having a cute little journal really helped me get into it. I have it sitting pretty on my nightstand, almost inviting me in.

Make a list of things you want to achieve and imagine yourself waking up refreshed with a purpose.

This mental rehearsal not only sets a positive intention but also primes your brain for action.

Wear Blue Light Blocking Glasses starting at 5 pm! Trust me, it’s a game changer. Reducing exposure to blue light from screens will drastically improve your sleep quality because of melatonin production

Have something to look forward to every morning. Treat yourself!

It could be a special coffee, delicious breakfast, a few minutes of your favourite hobby.

Associating mornings with a treat really works to boost the mood and keep the good habit going!

Open your curtains or blinds as soon as you wake up to let natural light flood into your space.

Sunlight helps regulate the circadian rhythm, making it easier to wake up feeling refreshed and energized.
